How soon do we need to book a wedding photographer?

To avoid disappointment its best to prioritise your photographer as one of the first services to book, therefore leaving yourself with the maximum opportunity to search for, and interview as many photographers as you can.

Typically, popular photographers will begin taking booking for the prime weekend summer weddings anything up to 2 years in advance. Enquire any less than 12 months in advance and you may struggle.

Away from the peak times of the year or if you are marrying during the week or you may still find availability with your chosen photographer even as little as 6 months in advance however to avoid disappointment always start looking earlier.

How would we secure our wedding date with you?

Wedding dates are secured with a 50% deposit of the full cost of your wedding photography in addition to the completion of a signed contract detailing the agreement between the photographer and the couple.

Do you do post production on the images from the day?

All images from the day will be processed to a professional standard and in accordance with the photographers’ creative control as detailed within the wedding contract. Should the couple wish to state a preference for additional black and white images or other treatments we will typically be happy to oblige.

Can we print the images from our wedding?

This is certainly a common question and the short answer is Yes. Every couple using RJH Wedding Photography are provided with a copy of their images on USB and a suitable copyright release to allow you to reproduce your images for your personal use.

Do we have to buy an album immediately or can we come back to you in the future?

Again the short answer is Yes, you’ll be pleased to know that we will retain the images from your wedding for many years to come, so you will always be able to return at any point for the purposes of purchasing a printed album or just recovering the images if you may have lost your copy.

How much coverage from the wedding day do we need?

At RJH Wedding Photography we primarily focus on offer a full day of wedding photography to ensure that the entire story of the day can be told and so none of those exciting moments are missed. We do however appreciate that some couples would prefer shorter coverage and are able to offer tailored prices on request.

Do we have to pay for your travel/expenses?

We do not charge for travel or any expenses for weddings within 30 miles of Sheffield centre. For those that are outside of this distance we will consult with the couple to agree a reasonable additional charge to cover costs for travel and/or accommodation. As a foot note to this, we certainly won’t be expecting to be put up in first class accommodation, a budget hotel would be more than suitable.

Can you cover our wedding overseas?

Of course, our recent wedding in Cuba was a spectacular day on a white sand beach and opalescent blue seas. From France to Mt. Fuji we can go anywhere you need us to be, but due to this variety we would request you contact us for a consultancy so that we can plan and charge appropriately.

Can other guests request copies of images they feature in?

Indeed, a large part of our business is based on guests requesting prints, simply ask your guests to reference the title of the image they would like reproduced (found within your private gallery) and send this across in an email to rob@rjhphotography.co.uk

Can you replicate a shot we have in mind for our wedding photography?

Often in the process of choosing your wedding venue you will have seen many pictures of previous weddings and these may have been part of the reason for you falling in love with the venue.

On the occasions when these images are something that you would like replicating we will be happy to discuss the prospect of using the same setting or theme. However all photographers worth their fee will have an established style and though we will be able to work with a suggested shot list these would be best regarded as an interpretation rather than duplication.

Can we request a particular style of photography for the big day?

By all means, we are very receptive to hearing from couples that have an interest in the styling of their wedding and have researched the varying styles of photography as they are commonly classified. Even having a preference towards an increased or reduced proportion of ‘candid’ shots can be very helpful in our preparations however at the core of the photography we will continue to bring our established underlying style as demonstrated throughout our portfolio.
